Women's national baseball team practices amid heat warning
South Korea's women's baseball team lost its fourth straight game to finish last (sixth) in Group A qualifying for the 2024 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women's World Cup.
The Yang Sang-moon-led team (ranked 10th in the world) lost its fourth game against Mexico (ranked 12th), 0-10, in six innings at Port Arthur Stadium in Thunder Bay, Canada, on Wednesday (July 13).
South Korea managed just three hits on the day and committed five errors.
In the seven-inning tournament, a cold game is called if the score is 10-10 after six innings.
Trailing for most of the game, South Korea gave up two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and failed to mount an offense in the top of the seventh.
After losing to Hong Kong (8-9), USA (0-14-5), Australia (3-10) and Mexico, Korea will close out the tournament with its final Group A game against Canada, which was postponed to Thursday due to rain.
