Kim Joo-on during his SSG Landers days.
Right-handed pitcher Kim Joo-on (28), who was recently released from SSG Landers, transferred to the LG Twins.
The LG club officially announced the recruitment of Kim Joo-on on the 21st.
Joo-on Kim was selected by the Samsung Lions in the 2015 rookie draft. Afterwards, he was selected by SK Wyverns (predecessor of SSG) in the 2nd draft in 2018. SK's general manager at the time is now LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop.
Kim Joo-on, who was serving in the military, wore the SK uniform after being discharged in July 2019.
Kim Joo-on had a fast ball with a maximum speed of 152 km, so he was expected to be a future SK winner, but he did not grow as much as expected.
Kim Joo-on's career first-team performance is 39 games, 42 innings, 3 losses (no wins), and an average ERA of 9.00.
He showed potential to be selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at SSG's Taiwan spring camp ahead of this season, but did not stand out in the first team and was released on the 13th. To strengthen the mound, Coach Yeom Kyung-yeop decided to recruit Kim Joo-on, whom he had kept an eye on during his time as SK general manager and coach.
